After five minutes, Jon's hair instantly returned to normal.
"It worked!" Jon exclaimed. "Now we have a loophole. We can do anything now. Let me see the stone, Karyn."
"Hold on, Jon. I want to try one more thing. The stone is supposed to make the changes seem normal to anyone who doesn't hear the wish. My parents weren't at all surprised to see me with long hair or big breasts yesterday, and a lot of my photographs had changed too. I'm curious as to how this thing will make a totally illogical situation logical. Wait here." Jon looked at Karyn worriedly, as he sat on the living room couch.
"What are you going to do to me, Karyn?"
"That's what you're going to have to find out," she said as she walked into the next room, closing the door behind her. But before she could make a wish, Zoe (Jon's Goth sister) entered the room. "Zoe, I'm doing something in here. Get out."
"I overheard what you were talking about. I even saw what you did," Zoe said.
"I don't what you're talking ..."
"I want in."
"Huh?"
"I want to join your wishing game."
"It's not a game. We're just doing a test."
"Okay, whatever. I want to be part of it," Zoe said.
"Zoe," Karyn said. "I don't think Jon would approve. In fact, I'm not too wild about this myself. No one but me and Jon even know about the wishing stone, and we want to keep it that way."
Zoe held Karyn's hand (the one that the stone just happened to be in). "Please?"
"Sorry," Karyn said. "But you have to promise to not tell ..."
Suddenly, Zoe made a wish, and because her hand was touching the stone, it came true. "I wish that you and Jon would want me to join your wishing game, or whatever you want to call it." The stone glowed.
Karyn knew that Zoe had used the stone to force her to allow her to test the stone with her (since she heard the wish), but that didn't stop her from having an overwhelming sense of trust in Zoe. Karyn suddenly felt like she could trust Zoe with her life. And that's the kind of trust she'd have to have before letting Zoe have something as powerful as the wishing stone.
Karyn walked back into the living room. "Zoe's going to do it instead. Is that okay?"
"Sure," Jon said. "Why not?"
A few minutes later, Zoe walked back into the room and smiled.
"What?" Jon asked.
