And so, the next day...having the very strange feeling that she'd lost something special...Karyn went to school. She felt odd as she washed, dressed, ate and went over her homework. She kept thinking...she was missing something. Not so much an object...but rather a friend. A sprcial confidant that she used to share her feelings with. At school, it was even worse. She'd had someone to walk with. To talk with. To share secret jokes and playfull banter with. Someone...
She heard them before she saw them. The peals of empty laughter and constant babbling of vapid, girlish voices were a dead giveaway. The cheerleaders were comming. She could hear the rustle of pom-poms and sounds of their leader - Boopsie - chanting "Okay, girls, lets REALLY show the team how much school spirit we have at the game tonight!"
She stopped and turned to watch the girls...and Boopsie...as they took positions in the hall and started their prancing, high-kicking cheer

There was an explosion of laughter and cheering, and Karyn was amazed. It was like she was seeing Boopsie for the first time. He'd been her friend once, way back when he'd been 'Jon'. A smart, somewhat nerdy boy with a weight problem and a love of classic sci-fi. Then...he'd changed. Begun dieting, excersizing and hanging out with a new crowd. He'd never actually told her to go away, but he started to obsess over girly stuff...and hanging out with that creep Biff...who turned out to be openly GAY and rather proud of it. Jon'd told her once "This is what I want, Karyn." in his new, affected giggling voice. "I always wanted to, like...y'know...be one of th' gals, an' there's a space openin' up on th' team. I'm gonna go for it an', y'know...like, make my dreams come true! Oh, by th' way, I'm changin' my name ta like...Boopsie, okay? My folks don', y'know...like it, but it's totally what Boopsie wants, y'know?"
And that's exactly what he'd done. After a short battle in both the court and the media, he'd joined the Cheerleaders and begun wearing only gils clothes. Slutty girls clothes. He'd begun chewing bubble gum all the time, hanging out with the cool girls, always seen on Biffs arm. They'd dated for over a year (it was kind of facinating to find that Biff was so open about his gayness), and as soon as Boopsie turned 16, they were married. Jons folks had thrown a fit and tried to block the wedding, but in the end...Boopsie Meadows had left home, moved into Biffs home, and told his parents that "Boopsie an' his big, strong Biffy are, like...an' item now. Get used t' it, or nevr see yer grand kids. Me an' Biffy are gonna adopt as soon as we can, an' I'm gonna be a totally AWESOME Boi-Mom!"
Thay'd gotten used to it since then, though it was obvious that Boopsie was much closer to his in laws these days.
Karyn watched as the cheerleaders continued to babble, watching as Boopsie - the Queen Bee in the center of his hive - nattered away with Sarah, Tiffany, Melissa, Amber, Jessica...all the vapid, gossip-loving bitches that surrounded him. Worshiped him. Followed him like he had the secret to eternal youth in his balls. Boopsies fashion sense was keen, and as they pranced down the hall they babbled about clothes and hair...
"Oh, HI Karyn! What're you doin' jus' hiden' in th' shadows? Come on over here, girlfriend."
Boopsie was speaking to her. Boopsies followers looked a little shocked, but they put a good face on as Karyn walked over to her former best friend - dressed in his tight top, skirt and looking like the hottest girl in school except for his lack of breasts and slightly too-prominant chin. Biffs folks had blown a small fortune having Boopsies face resculpted into girlish curves, and his lips were plump, perfect, kissable pillows. That mouth was spread into a genuine smile, and as Boopsie hugged her, she realised he was both thinner than her AND in much better shape.
"Oh, I missed you so much, Karyn. We, like...never talk any more! What have you been doin', huh? I heard you got a scholarship or somethin', right? You always was like, totally smart an' stuff."
Karyn wanted to say something like "You were smart too, Jon." or "We don't move in the same circles any more." but Jon - well, okay...Boopsie - was so obviously trying to be friendly that...well, she did miss him. She chatted with Boopsie durring lunch, when the others cheerleaders wern't talking about boys and clothes and the Kardashians...and though she knew they didn't have a single shared interest anymore, she felt better afterwards. It was plain that she and 'Boopsie' wern't really friends, but it was also obvious that Boopsie liked her, thought of her, and somewhat missed her. It was also obvious...that Boopsie both loved his life...and his husband. Maybe Biff had hidden qualities burried under his douchebag exterior? She didn't think so, but...
"Here. It's an invitation to my Pool Party. It's gonna be AWESOME, Karyn...an' I want you ta come. It'll be a blast havin' you there."
The other cheerleaders looked at Karyn - a silent Greek Chorus of confusion, suspicion and disapproval directed at her - and she smiled. She accepted the envelope and said "Thanks...Boopsie. I'll be there. And I'm really glad your happy."
Karyn watched as the crowd of cheerleaders - Boopsie at the center - pranced away. Boopsie saw Biff and squealed "Hey, hubbie! How's my MAN doin' today?" and he rubbed his epis rump against Biffs buldging crotch, moaning and giggling as he did.
"Lookin' for you, babe. Man, I been thinkin' about that sweet-sweet ass all day. Come on...I'm gonna fuck you in the back of the car."
Boopsie giggled and tossed his mountain of soft, blond hair. "Whateva' daddy wants...daddy gets." he lisped, and Biff scooped the squealing, giggling boi into his arms and carried him to their car. Karyn just shook her head and walked away. Gross, she thought...and yet, Jon seemed to be really and honestly in love. Oh well...
