Karyn went into the other room and closed the door. She thought about what to wish about Jon. Then she thought, maybe she wouldn't wish about Jon, but change something else and see if Jon could figure out what it was. But it'd have to be something really out of the ordinary.
Then she thought of something. Jane Brooks, a girl who went to their school had just quit because she'd gotten pregnant several months ago and Sarah McMillan and other girls had constantly made fun of her for it. Even though she hadn't been to school for a week now, Sarah still made jokes about her. She thought at first maybe she should wish that Sarah was pregnant, but then she thought of something better.
"I wish that Sarah had gotten her boyfriend Biff pregnant, even though she is a girl and he is a boy. I wish that no doctors could explain this phenomenon, and that it is not normal in this new reality." She added that last part to make sure it didn't change the world to a reality where a pregnant man was possible, there'd be no fun in the wish then.
There was a flash, and Karyn smiled. She pictured popular football star and bully Biff Meadows, now with a large baby bump. His manly pecs had probably sagged into womanly breasts. He probably even had to wear a bra now, she thought, with satisfaction, remembering the times he had snapped her bra strap back in junior high when she had first started wearing one. She thought of Sarah. Her superficial friends, who would have abandoned her if she herself had gotten pregnant, but probably now considered her a total freak, having gotten Biff pregnant.
She wondered, would Biff be going full "mommy" role and Sarah "daddy" role? Or would they try to keep their roles as "normal" as they could? She knew she could wish and see how it was, but she thought it'd be far more sporting to see if Jon could figure out what she had changed, and if he could figure it out, she'd get the story from him. She ran back into the living room to where Jon was waiting.
