Karyn started to slowly follow Jon down the stairs towards the kitchen, looking at several photos on the wall and noticing all that had changed. She laughed of one of Jon as a kid that used to show him on the soccer team, but now showed him dancing ballet in a pink tutu. Sometimes it was only the clothing that had changed, sometimes it was a completely different situation depicted.
Then she came to one that confused her at first, it used to depict Jon's mother, pregnant with his youngest brother, wearing a maternity dress, holding her belly, and smiling down motherly at it. It now showed Jon's mom, still pregnant, but now wearing pants and a large shirt (obviously made to fit her belly), and she now had a tough look on her face, hands on her hips. And Jon's father was now in the photo with her, and he had his hand lovingly on her belly, with the same caring face his mom originally had.
That's right, thought Karyn. Since I didn't wish for our bodies to physically change, women still get pregnant. Only now, she knew it was seen as "tough" and something a man couldn't handle, they were only good for caring for the babies after they were born, and the women went back to be the breadwinners. She also knew that men couldn't handle periods, being the weaker sex.
She smiled, she felt strong and more respected. She felt no insecurities about her body, even though it had not changed. Gone were cares about whether she was gaining weight or whether she was pretty enough. Let the boys deal with that stuff for now, she smiled. Then she went into the kitchen to find Jon and his family and do some more exploring of this new world.
