After hearing the wish, Karyn looked at her lipstick. She didn't see anything different, it was the same sensual red as before.

"So? Did it change color?" Asked Jon, eager to know the results.

"Not that I can see, it is still the same red as bef..." Karyn stopped herself. She remembered the lipstick being red, but also Jon wishing it was red, and it dawned on her that maybe her memories did indeed change. "Wow... That's weird. I remember you wishing it was red, so I think it wasn't but I can't remember it being any other color."

She thought a little as Jon didn't respond. She knew when she accepted her memories would possibly be changed, but what scared her was that she didn't feel anything. She was constantly watching the lipstick, so it should have changed before her eyes, but she didn't notice even when she knew what would happen. What would it be if she didn't know? Would she even suspect anything?

Karyn began examining every memory she had, searching for anything strange or out of place surrounding Jon. Was Jon's sister Zoe always a goth? Was he really as good a student as she remembered? Was Sarah always such a cliché bitch?

Slowly, she began questioning everything as she realized that it didn't even need to be strange. Everything done with the stone would appear normal. Maybe all she remembered was a lie. Maybe her life had completely changed. Maybe the whole reality was supposed to be different.

"Karyn? Are you still there?" Jon's voice brought her back to reality, or at least what she thought was the reality.

"Yes, I... I'm here."

"Are you alright? You were silent for a moment."

"Sorry, I was... Distracted" She wanted to tell Jon about her thought, maybe he could reassure her. She trusted him not to do anything bad with it... But did she? Maybe her memories of him were lies and he wasn't to be trusted. Maybe he just wished Karyn would trust him. She wanted to trust him... But she couldn't.

"I was asking what you remember we said when you told me about the lipstick, before the wish."

Karyn tried to calm herself. She couldn't trust anyone right now, but she needed Jon to trust her, so he wouldn't do anything bad to her. "Hum, I told you it was red, and it appeared with the wish then you started teasing me, saying I would look sexy with it. I told you to shut up, and you made your wish."

Had she been calmer, she would have blushed a little saying that but she knew these memories weren't real, even if they felt like it. It was the only memories she knew were false and she couldn't differentiate them from the rest, strengthening her belief that they weren't the only fakes ones.

Jon was oblivious to her thoughts. He started comparing her memories to what really happened. Karyn listened to this foreign reality, trying to recover these memories but failing.

Then something changed. Five minutes had passed and the lipstick was pink once again. Karyn found herself listening to Jon talking about a reality where her lipstick was red that she had no recollection of. But far from reassuring her that the wish ended and that her memories were back, the fact that she didn't remember the alternate reality frightened her even more. Jon could do anything to her and she wouldn't remember once it was over... She was literally a toy for Jon. Or at least she felt that way.

She felt like she wanted to puke, but she couldn't let Jon suspect anything. She tried with all her might to calm herself before interrupting Jon. "Sorry J-Jon, I think my mother is calling me. I... I better go." She hoped the wavering in her voice wasn't too noticeable." We'll continue the tests tomorrow, alright?"

"Oh, that's okay, I guess. See you tomorrow then!"

"See you!" She hung up immediately and let go of the phone, trying to get her respiration under control.

She couldn't trust anything or anyone anymore. She couldn't even trust her own memories, but she knew what to do.

She needed to get the stone.
