Karyn looked around for Jon, and after a few minutes she spotted him. "There he is," she said, pointing.
Sarah looked in that direction and saw a normal enough looking boy with short brown hair, dressed in a T-shirt and jeans. "Not the sexy heartthrob you were describing, but ..."
"I never described him like that," Karyn said. "But he is cute, right?"
"Totally."
As Jon approached them, Karyn noticed that he looked quite a bit like the Jon she remembered, but there were some minute differences. His nose was shaped a little differently, his hair was a little darker, and his eyes were hazel-colored instead of blue. He was definitely not part of the Smith family (if there was a Smith family), and this made Karyn wonder which family this new Jon belonged to.
"Hi, Karyn. Hi, Sarah. Now what's this about a stone you found?" he asked. Obviously this version of Jon didn't know about the wishing stone ... yet.
