A little while later, when Jon's mom finally got home, she went upstairs.
She was surprised to find that there was no light coming from underneath Jon's bedroom door. That's odd, she thought to herself. It's too early for him to be asleep.
She knocked very softly, but heard no reaction from inside.
I'll just look in to make sure he's okay, she thought.
She opened the door and saw the outline of what was obviously two people. After turning on the light, she recognized the two people as her son Jon and his best friend Karyn. Her first reaction was shock, but then a half a second later, her shock was completely removed. Why would she be shocked to find her son having sex with his girlfriend (of whom he had been dating for over a year)? Maybe she didn't approve of it, but it was in no way shocking.
She closed the door and continued on her way, not even realizing that a magic stone had changed her reaction and altered reality to make what she saw justifiable.
