Jon shook Karyn, more than he probably needed to.
"Mom," Karyn whined. "I ..." She stopped when she opened her eyes and realized that she wasn't in her bedroom. She turned her head and saw Jon looking at her. "Jon? Why am I in your bed?" she asked, pushing herself up. As she did, the sheets fell off of her, exposing her naked body.
"I don't know," Jon said. "I think I might have made a wish when I was sleeping last night."
"You were holding the stone? Why would you do that?"
"I was really tired, okay? I just forgot."
Karyn lifted the covers and looked at the rest of her body. As far as she could tell, she still looked the same. But if she didn't hear Jon's wish, she couldn't really know for sure if she had changed.
"What did you wish for?"
"I can't remember," Jon said.
"Then make a wish to know what it was," she said.
"Oh, right." Jon grabbed the stone, which he had placed on his nightstand immediately after he woke up. "I wish to know what I wished for while I was sleeping last night." The stone glowed and Jon got his answer. "Oh god, Karyn. I didn't just make one wish. I made a whole bunch of wishes."
