Karyn ran into the kitchen.
"Karyn, watch where you're going!" Jon shouted out. "The floor is still wet."
"Jon, listen to me. You're not supposed to be a maid. I just wished that you'd be dressed like one."
"That's ridiculous, Karyn. I've been a maid for years."
"Jon. You're a guy. Why would you have a job as a maid?"
"Karyn, lots of guys are maids."
"Name one."
"What about Zach Jones, from school?" he asked.
"Zach? He's not a maid."
"What are you talking about? Zach has been the McMillan maid for three years now."
"McMillan? You mean Sarah's family?"
"How many McMillans do you know?" Jon sighed. "Listen, Karyn. I can't keep having conversations with you. I have to get back to work. Your mom is expecting me to be done in the next half hour."
Karyn walked back into the living room, thinking about how her little wish had apparently changed all of reality. Zach Jones was a maid? How many other boys were maids? And were there other feminine jobs that boys had too?
After sitting down on the sofa, she wondered if maybe she could make another wish to fix things, or at least alter things so that the world wasn't as messed up.
