Fortunately, wishes that came true in an unintended way were very to fix, since wishes could always be reinterpreted and only their literal words couldn't be contradicted. "I wish that that the male one is the masculine football player popular with the girls and is named Mike, and the other one is the cheerleader and is named Sandy. There, it's all fixed."

"No it's not," said Karyn. "It's too bad I didn't realize what I did wrong before."

"What?" said Jon as his children ran off. "No, I fixed things."

"You fixed the masculine and feminine problem," said Karyn, "but not the big problem."

"The big problem? You mean the time limit on the wish?"

"No," said Karyn. "I think that's fine. You made another wish yourself to be pregnant with twins, and that one didn't have a time limit, so the twins aren't going to disappear."

"I don't get it, then," said Jon.

"The problem... Jon, you know how the wish changes reality so things were always that way?"

"Yeah, Karyn."

"So how did it change reality this time? What explanation could there possibly be for why we have two children our own age?"

"Hmm," said Jon. "I can't think of anything."

"But there is something," said Karyn. "And whatever it is it's probably going to be downright weird."

"Okay," said Jon. "I wish I knew why in the new reality me and Karyn have twins our own age."
