Squatting down to Jon's eye level, Karyn took his small hands in hers and said. "Relax, you don't have to do anything. We'll do a little shopping, try on some clothes, I'll get to know your mom better, all you have to do is go along for the ride."
"Absolutely not! Besides, thanks to you, it's my bedtime." Jon complained. "Come on Karyn, if you fix my age, I'll go to the mall with you. Deal?"
"I don't know, I kinda like being older than you. It's fun!" Karyn giggled.
"Ok, pick any age that makes you happy, but keep in mind that by the time we finish dinner, my mother is not going to let a young boy run off with an older girl to the mall." Jon said confident that his logic was irrefutable.
"Deal!" Karyn agreed as she pulled Jon into a gentle embrace and whispered into his ear, "minus eight years."
