A few minutes later Karyn appeared from her examination room.
"Was it as bad as you thought it would be?" Karyn whispered to Jennifer.
"Worse. She even gave me a birth control implant." Jennifer whispered back.
"Yeah she talked me into one too" Karyn replied. "I bet that was embarrassing for you!"
"It really was! I wish no one but you ever remembers that it happened." Jennifer exclaimed. Then freaking as she thought about what she just said, she drops the rock that was still in her hand.
Just then the doctor, returned again, caring a small box. "Ok, Jennifer, since you declined the implant, I called your insurance and they agreed to pay for a year's supply of the once a week patch. I have your first month's supply right here. Please lift the back of your shirt and I'll show you how to apply it."
Explaining the process, cleaning and changing techniques the doctor also explained that the mixture of hormones would likely cause some nipple growth and overall increased breast sensitivity. Prolonged usage may lead to some lacation. As the doctor finished her foot touched the dropped rock, which she picked up again.
"Now I know it's sometimes hard to remember, but it's important that you always wear your patches. I wish you'll be certain to have one on at all times." the doctor finished. She then handed the rock back to Jennifer. "Looks like you keep dropping this, have a good time at school."
"Ut-oh." Karyn said..
"What do you mean, 'Ut-oh'." Jennifer asked.
"She just made a wish with the rock and I think you did as well". Karen explained
"Yeah she did, but I wasn't going to take any chances with this body anyway, I'm going to wear my patches religiously until I get changed back. However I don't remember saying anything else"
"I'll explain later. " Karen replied, as they reached the receptionist counter. How was she going to convince Jennifer that she had accepted a double round of birth control hormones and then wished that she had forgotton it?
After paying Helen the co-pay for the visit, Mrs. Tanner was waiting for the two girls.
