Jon tried to not act to abnormal as he walked the couple of blocks from Karyn's house to his house.
He didn't want to think about how Karyn's clothes made him look. His clothes were in a plastic bag, stuffed into his book bag.
He had gone about half way when a police patrol car pulled up next to him.
"We have a report of a robbery a couple of blocks over, Miss." The officer said. "Do you live around here?"
Jon wanting to correct the officer thinking he was a girl, decided not to. 'Could be worse.' He thought.
Trying hard to sound like Karyn, Jon said, "I live about a block and a half away."
"I had better give you a ride, just in case." The officer said as he leaned across the seat and opened the passenger side door. "I'll have you home in a couple of minutes."
Knowing that to do anything but accept would open him up to more questions, Jon climbed into the car, "Thank you." He said.
Barely had the police officer started the car, when a man ran across the road, stopped, then turn and ran the other way.
The police officer flipped on his lights, and announced on the radio that he had a location on the robbery subject.
"Hang on Miss. Things might get a bit rough." The officer said.
