'Karyn was wearing Jon's clothes last night. They didn't look too different from many of the less tight girl's clothes she had seen other girl's wear.' A plan formed in her mind.
"I think I'll see if I can get him some girl's clothes that don't look too feminine, then he can be more comfortable and still not give away his secret about being Transgender."
The next day, during lunch, Jon's mom went to a near discount store, armed with the list of Jon's new (feminine) sizes. Since money had been tight for so many years, she still tended to shop frugally.
'I doubt that Jon would want something that looked too feminine to wear to school.' She thought to herself, 'Although I bet he would really like to be able to wear something pretty.'
Not having a lot of time, Jon's mother quickly bought Jon some basics, a package of plain white panties and one with some pastel colors. Although he really didn't need them, she also bought him a couple of training bras. She added a few pull-over tops that were close to be uni-sex (although a bit more feminine than not), a dozen pairs of while ankle socks, a pair of walking shoes with a pale blue stripe, and two pairs of jeans.
Not having Jon around to try on the clothes, she hoped that they would fit him. She wasn't too sure about the jeans, but there weren't a lot of choices in Jon's size that were not too feminine. By mistake, the jeans she bought were low-rider, hip-huggers, without back pockets. As she neared the check-out line she saw a sale of fanny packs. She had wanted one for herself. The sale was buy one get a second one free. She picked out a bright blue fanny pack for Jon and a denim fanny pack for herself.
Hurrying back to work, she barely made it back for her lunch time was over.
When she got home she saw a note from Jon saying that he was going to be studying with Karyn and would not be home until late.
Jon's mother took his new clothes to his room, removed the tags and hung up the clothes. She then picked up the pile of clothes she assumed was dirty and took them to the laundry. "That boy sure goes through a lot of clothes." She said as she mistook the pile of clean clothes for dirty. Jon, like many boys his age felt a pile of clothes was as good if not better than hanging them up.
Meanwhile, at Karyn's
