When her voice cracked.
"Sam, you just gotta stop buggin' and chill, like, ya know?"
What had happened? Within the last couple seconds, Athena's speech patterns had gone from advisor to Malibu Barbie. But the changes didn't stop there.
Athena's skin darkened, from a pale white to a rose, from peach to an olive, straight through to a look as if she spent hours at the tanning booth. A look that screamed exactly the opposite of occult. Sam was stuck.
"Sooo, Earth to Sammi, like, are you gonna sit with your mouth open, or are we, like, headed to class?" Athena asked as she popped a 2-inch pink bubble.
"Uh, yeah, I guess," was all Sam could reply.
Within three minutes, the one key to explain Sam's changes disappeared, and in its place now stood a sparkling, glittery, sorority-girl in the making. Her platinum blonde hair, perfectly coiffed, was only outmatched by her vacant, doe-eyed smile, accentuated by copious amounts of lip gloss.
"Athena, do you feel alright? You look a little strange."
"Strange? Oh, you mean like weird? Duh Sammi, of course I look strange, you must be noticing my outfit? It's new? I think the pink is pretty classy, of course others say it's too short, but that's kind of what I like about it?"
Athena as Sam knew it was gone, and as she walked away, Sam found himself arm-in-arm with the new Athena, walking towards whatever class was next
