Kevin meanwhile had gotten back on his feet and was watching Biffs fruitless escape-attempts with glee. 'You know perhaps it is just the concussion speaking, put I just got a crazy idea how to pay you back for all the times you humiliated someone.'
Kevins smile widened as Biff whirled around to look at him with wide eyes, ohhh how the balance of power had shifted! Kevin thought as he prepared his next command 'SUDO ROOT...'
The next thing Biff heard was 'We might be here a bit so why dodn't you pass the time by singing. This is the choir room after all. SUDO up and down the scale should be sufficient until I tell you otherwise.' And so he did, unsure where Kevin was going with this. Then he noticed his voice was changing slightly with each rendition of an octave, getting marginally higher and sweeter until his normal tenor had become a soft soprana. The quaver of terror in his voice served only to make each note more girlish.
Meanwhile Kevin was issuing more commands between fits of giggles at the sight of his former bully singing like a girl and clutching his throat in bewilderment.
'Heh, I'm sure your friends will just adore that lovely singing voice.' Kevin snickered and went to go 'SUDO Feel free to stop singing and leave the room in about a minute.' Just before he reached the door Kevin turned to add 'And I wouldn't tell people about the gem or try to remove it or you might be stuck that way. If you want your old voice back meet me here after school.'
And with that Biff was alone, staring at the clock over the door while he tried to come to terms with what had just happened.
Despite the throbbing egg on the back of his head and the other bruises from his encounter with Biff, Kevin's was in a splendid mood for the rest of his lessons. Things hadn't gone according to plan, sure, but having the biggest jock in school as an ally had potential and once he got home he could retrieve the stone to make a second attempt at Sarah.
Unfortunately for Kevin, Biff was neither as stupid nor as easily cowed had he had hoped. And when he returned to the choir-room with a head full of ideas how to turn 'Biff the Bully' into 'Biff Defender of the Weak' he ran smack into Moose, Steve and Julian.
Before Kevin had even fully realized that Biff was nowhere to be seen, he was already lying on the floor again with a greatly expanded collection of bruises and Moose was kneeling beside him
'Listen bud.' the line-backer growled 'Biff texted me about what happened. I know he can be kind of a jerk, but I really hope you boxing him in the throat was just an accident. These photo-shopped pictures you wanted to spread on campus, however. You better let those disappear. Biff didn't go into details, and I don't want to know but he was very insistent that we wouldn't like them. But if I don't get a text from Biff by tomorrow saying you two resolved that cowardly blackmail-shit. I'll make your life hell. Ok? Ok.' Point made the three footballers left the room, while Kevin was trying to lie still until the worst pain was over.
If the gem in his palm had been the only artifact at play Biffs plan might have actually worked. Any suspicious activity on his part would probably get Kevin's ass kicked because his buddies would conclude he was being blackmailed again. Even the teammates who didn't like him would probably come to his defense, because some outsider besmirching the honor of one of its members was a great way to whip a sports-team into a hive-mentality.
As it was however Kevins anger had a lot of time to simmer, as he was slowly limping home where the stone was waiting for him. And when Kevin wished to know how to make Biff suffer he got all the Inspiration he needed.
