Mrs. Farber shook her head, then grabbed Jon and pushed him down the hall. "Just go get changed, young lady. I won't have any daughter of mine dressed like a tomboy."

"Wait ..." Jon said. It was quite obvious by now that someone had made a wish for Mrs. Farber to think that he was her daughter. But who wished it and why?

"Jennifer, you'll do as I say."

It looked like Jon wasn't going to win this argument. Fortunately, the Farber house was a one-story house, so he could easily open a window and flee back to his own house. He did it to get in; he could do the same to leave. He just had to wait until Mrs. Farber wasn't watching.

She led him back to one of the bedrooms. But to his astonishment, it was a girl's bedroom. As far as Jon knew, the Farbers didn't have a daughter. So where did this room come from? The only answer Jon could come up with was that this was part of the wish that was made. But who made it? There were only two possibilities that he could think of: Mrs. Farber or Moose, who just left the house moments ago. He passed him by on his way into the Farber house. But Jon asked him about the stone and Moose said he didn't know anything about it. Was he lying? Why would he lie? Then his eyes went wide. He'd lie if he knew that it was a wishing stone. That son of a bitch, Jon thought. He did this to me. When I find him, I'll ...

"Now change your clothes. You don't want to embarrass yourself wearing that boyish outfit, do you?" Mrs. Farber asked.

"Uh ... no, I guess not," Jon said, trying to humor her.

She looked at him for a moment, then shook her head. She turned around and left the room, and as she walked down the hall, she informed Jon that she would be in the basement, maybe for the rest of the night. She had some cleaning to do.

Jon closed the door, then turned around and looked at the bedroom he was led to.
