The doorbell rang again, causing Jenna to spin around and violently open the door. "I told you losers to ...!" She stopped when she saw that it wasn't the scouts again, but rather Sarah McMillan and Tiffany Sanders. "Oh ... sorry, girls," she said. "Come on in."
As Sarah and Tiffany walked in, Jenna said "There were these stupid kids wanting money at the door a minute ago."
"Yeah, we saw them on our way here," Sarah said, with the same sour tone that Jenna used.
Tiffany looked at Jenna's mom, who was still standing nearby. "Like, hi," she said, with a little wave.
Jenna's mom shook her head with disappointment and annoyance. She obviously disapproved of both Jenna and her closest friends.
"Just ignore her, Tiffany," Jenna said, as her mom walked away, back into the kitchen. "She's just acting extra bitchy today."
"So ... you're going out with Steve tonight, huh?" Sarah said.
