... the wish worked exactly as Jonnie had expected.

Jonnie was prepared. She suddenly remembered that yes, she had been a boy. It was a little bit of a shock once she remembered, but she couldn't really panic or become upset.

She looked all around herself. Karyn was staring at her. "Nice breasts," she said. "Maybe you should have messed up the first wish instead of me."

"It's messed up enough!" replied Jonnie. "Everyone here is a girl. Now we all know what our old lives are supposed to be but we can't just go back to them. I wonder exactly how close you can come to panicking without really panicking." She glanced around the room. "I don't see anyone else here. I thought that girls always use the restroom constantly."

"That's just a stereotype," said Karyn, "but I suppose now you'll have to get used to hearing stereotypes."

They went out into the hall. Jonnie still remembered her new life as a girl too, and the degree of talk that was going on in the hall seemed too much either for the all girl version of Lake Point or the original. She saw as many familiar faces as she'd normally see, or at least faces whose owners she knew, even though her original memories told her that they were guys. They all looked normal, though a couple of the ex-guys who had become lesbians were fairly butch.

"What happened?" said Jonnie to her friend Josephine (nee Joseph).

"I don't know. Suddenly we're all girls."

"But I remember being Jon as well as Jonnie."

"Yeah, me too," said Josephine.

"I don't know what happened," said Jonnie, "but wouldn't something like this be... more frightening than it is?"

Josephine didn't answer. It was if she couldn't even think of it.

Jonnie then spotted the somewhat nerdish Jay Duncan. Only he was now Kay Duncan. Kay still wore glasses but her interests were a little different... she was more into vampire stories and other girls' interests. Jonnie had even gotten Kay for her birthday a set of books....

"Jay?" said Jonnie.

"I'm supposed to be Kay," she said. "We've all turned into girls. I don't understand it. But you're now..."

"I know," said Jonnie and kissed Kay. Kay was a lot more attractive than Jay was, even if the difference may not have been that large if Jonnie had to spell it out.

"Let me guess," said Karyn. "You're each other's girlfriend. Considering half the school is made up of lesbians."

Jonnie nodded.

"But then I knew that," said Karyn. "It sounds like everyone remembers what the new reality is."

"Yeah," said Jay. "But just our memories. Look at this." She indicated the lavender blouse she was wearing. "I still have girls' clothes and I bet everything I have at home is going to be..."

"Twilight?" wondered Karyn.

"I don't think Twilight counts as a lesbian vampire romance," said Kay. She named a series that Karyn hadn't even heard of in either reality. "And if everyone remembers, I wonder what my parents will think."

"I bet they won't panic," said Jonnie. "No matter how weird it is that we're dating...."
