Karyn heard a yell while she was making her wish. Could Jon have tripped and fallen in the same spot again? But the yell abruptly cut off, for some reason.
Still, she decided to go and investigate, being careful of the wet floor herself. She tapped Jon on the shoulder and he turned.
"Jon," said Karyn, "I had the stone all along. I just wanted to use it for a bit but I couldn't think of anything anyway. You weren't worried, were you?"
"Of course not."
But the wish had done exactly what you might expect it to do. Jon now had a woman's crotch. He hadn't heard the wish, so as far as he was concerned there was nothing strange about it. He was perfectly comfortable with it, just as Karyn had wished. And while Karyn might have reversed the wish (since she did say 'now' and not 'later'), there was no way she was going to do that if Jon didn't even say anything about it....
