Unknowning to Jon, Karyn HAD found the rock. But she wanted it so much, she led Jon to believe that she hadn't found it.
"Well, this is just great. I get it one day, then lose it the next."
"Don't worry Jon. I'm sure you'll find it." She smiled to herself. "Just be patient."
"Karyn, you just don't see the cruel irony here, do you?" He frantically looked around the floor again. "I know I had it with me. It's got to be here somewhere."
Karyn, feeling sorry about putting Jon through all this stress, decided to make a wish to reduce Jon's "discomfort".
Whispering to herself, Karyn said "I wish ..."
