"Tell me what's going on!" he demanded.
"Okay, fine. I will. It's really sort of funny, though," Jenna answered.
"There's nothing funny about what's happening to my girlfriend."
"Actually, it is funny. You see, it's all because of this." She opened her hand for just a second or two and showed Steve the stone. Then she put it in her pocket.
"And what's that supposed to be?"
"A magic wishing stone. It grants wishes. And it granted your brother's wish to become Amber Starlight."
"Why would he do that?"
"It doesn't matter. It just happened. Anyway, when your brother took Amber's body, Amber took your brother's body. But she was getting lonely, so she wished that her bedmate Tiffany was here. Then your brother's friend Karyn showed up and ... well ... that's when the real fun started."
"What are you talking about?"
"Well, Amber didn't want to stay as a guy, so she wished to have Karyn's body. So then, Karyn had your brother's body. Apparently, she was trying to get her own body back, but she couldn't just switch back, because wishes can't be reversed. So, she took over Tiffany's body and Tiffany got your brother's. But, before Karyn could wish her body back, I took the stone."
"You? You're ... Tiffany?"
"I was Tiffany. But now I'm Jenna."
Then Steve got it. Tiffany had control of Jon's body, but changed Jon's body into a girl's body. And she said wishes couldn't be reversed. This was bad. Very bad.
"What did you do to Jon?"
"Hold on. I'm getting to that. Now, where was I? Oh yes. I turned Karyn, who was in my old body, into a sex-crazed bisexual bimbo. Neat, huh?"
Steve couldn't believe it. With a single wish, a person's whole life could be different. And never be reversed.
"Then your brother, who was still in Amber's body, showed up here and ... well, you get the idea."
"You mean that girl Amber is Jon?"
"Was Jon. The Jon you know is completely gone."
"You bitch. How could you do this?" Steve said.
"Hey, what's going on?" asked Kyle, who was standing in the hallway with his girlfriend Michelle.
Steve looked at them with shocked eyes. They need to get out of here, he thought. He didn't want anyone else to change.
"You were taking a long time, so we just thought we'd come in," Michelle explained. "What ... what's wrong?"
As they had their conversation, Jenna backed away and went back into Jon's bedroom and locked the door.
