"I was just going to go to you and ask you where Jon was. I got here and I didn't find him here so I would have no idea where he was."

"Oh dear. While you were coming in, I was searching the house for where he may b. After you came in, without greeting me, I realized maybe you would've known where he had gone off to but that got me nothing." Jon's mom said worriedly.
"You don't think anything bad may have happened to Jon, do you?" Karyn asked carefully.
"I sure hope not but last night he was acting strange."
Acting strange? Jon may not have been so good at acting normal after getting his hands on the stone.
"Fu-rick," Karyn kept herself from swearing in front of a parental. "I am Jon's best friend. He should've told me before doing anything STUPID."
Jon's mom tried to force a laugh but she was obviously worried out of her mind. Karyn was annoyed. Throwing shame at the dead guy in her last statement.
Karyn slowly noticed the despair in Jon's mom's face. Boy, if she could fix this. Or at least make things better somehow. She fumbled with the stone in her hand.
