About an hour later, Karyn came over to Jon's house. She was wondering where he was, since he promised to meet her at the mall. But Jon didn't seem to be at his house either.
Peering around Jon's bedroom, she saw that his TV was on, but nothing was playing on it. There was a pile of black powder, laying on the floor in front of his TV, and beside it was ... the stone.
She picked it up, wondering why Jon would have left it sitting in plain view.
