(This plot is based on "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya" It's a good story I highly recommend and I think it would make for an interesting variation on the plot)
In a flash, the universe was back, but it wasn't the same one that had been destroyed by Jon's careless remark. It had many similarities though....There was still a Jon, in a manner of speaking...still a Karyn, and still a Sarah...but... it wasn't quite the same and in another universe the stone would work differently.
Karyn was in a bad mood today was positively ordinary. She was hoping middle school would be different, but it was just as bland as elementary school. After brushing her teeth she went to sleep, a restless sleep where she dreamed about that baseball game, years ago, the day she realized she was not special but ordinary.
A hole tore opened in the universe and the stone came throe falling into Karyn, she wouldn't realize it but on that day she became much more special then she ever dreamed of.
Three years later
*"Santa Clause unlike many children I never really believed in the fat man in a red suit who only works one day a year. I knew that the Santa who came to my preschool was a fake. However I wouldn't realize that that wizards, time travelers, aliens, monsters, psychics, ghosts, movie monsters, evil organizations and the heroes who fight them and comics weren't real until some time later.
No I probably realized it but I just didn't want to admit it."*
It was the first day of my freshman year of high school. I trudged up that hill in my wool uniform, talk about cruel and I didn't have my large text books yet, fore years of this to look forward to.
"Great" (sarcastically)
After an assembly to welcome us new students we went to our homerooms. We started out by introducing ourselves, Name middle school and something about ourselves. When it was my turn I spoke without any problems, but then she stood.
"My name is Karyn Black from North-side middle school" she said
I hadn't even bothered to turn my head for her.
"I am not interested in ordinary humans but if there are any Aliens, Time Travelers Sliders or Psychics hear come join me. That is all!" She said seriously then sat down.
I had to turn my head when I heard that. She was beautiful, she wore the sailor style girls uniform, her long red hair was down, her bust I estimate about a D cup, she had a few freckles on her face and her green eyes seemed to sparkle.
Over the weeks that followed I noticed Karyn had a number of eccentricities.
First we had almost every class together and they where pretty close to each other, but she would disappear out the door as soon as the bell rang and would show up for class right before the bell rang.
Second she always seemed to have a chip on her shoulder and wouldn't talk to any one.
Third she wore her hair different every day, on Mondays she wore it down, Tuesdays she wore it in a ponytail, Wednesdays she had it in two pigtails and so on with one more each day, I kind of wanted to see what her hair looked like on Sundays.
Forth she joined every team and club, went once then quit.
A few weeks later before homeroom something happened, something that would start a domino effect of strangeness, I knocked over that first domino. I talked to Karyn.
"Hey" I said nonchalantly "About your introduction, How much was serious?"
With her usual scowl she said "What stuff?"
"Well the stuff about aliens and whatever"
"You an alien?"
"No but "
"No but what?"
"Just forget it"
And that was it.
I was eating lunch in the cafeteria with my friends Biff and Max.
"I'm not going to mince words I saw you talking to Karyn earlier, Don't get involved with her" Biff said
"Why?" I asked
"I went to school with her she's crazy, she said yes to every guy that asked her out and she broke up with everyone of them the longest one lasted a week the shortest five minuets."
I couldn't help but think he was the guy who lasted for five minutes.
"Hey Jon" Sara the nicest and most popular girl in class spoke up to me.
JON everyone calls me Jon I hate it. My senile aunt called me that and my sister took to it like a duck to water. Some of my friends heard and my real name went out the window.
"You talked to Karyn today right..
