"I will admit, after all we've been through, I went easy on you. If you were anyone else, I would have done far worse. Hurry through my forest or I will have to do far more," Athena said.
Jon looked at her with wide eyes. Wide cat eyes. And then he ran as fast as he could through the forest. Actually, he discovered that it was easier to run on all four legs, now that he had them. It was fortunate that Athena only turned him into a human-cat and not a real cat. Sure, he'd probably be feared the rest of his life (most monsters were), but he at least was able to keep his mind and his voice. As a cat, he would just be an animal, no more.
Anyway, once he found his treasure, he could use it to fix himself. At least, he hoped he could.
He ran for almost ten minutes. It was a carefree sprint, mainly just to get through the forest as fast as he could, but also to get away from Athena, if that was possible. Unfortunately, Jon was in such a hurry to leave that he forgot to bring his gear with him. It had all of his supplies, including the map.
Jon stopped and looked back towards the way he came. All he saw were trees. Dense, dark trees. The way he was running, he wouldn't be able to see where he came from. He wouldn't be able to get back.
The problem wasn't that he didn't know where he was going, though, but rather that Athena most likely had the map now. And he most definitely did not want her to get to the treasure before him. She already had way too much power.
