"I wish I was born in the twentieth century," Jon said. Suddenly, the stone became warm. He looked down just in time to see it glowing, before he was forced to shut his eyes. When he opened them, he found himself in a strange bedroom, which was actually the size of his entire apartment.
He stood up from the bed and walked to the window. Outside, he saw a lush green neighborhood with people walking and jogging. The sky was a perfect crisp blue with just a spattering of clouds.
Where was he? He certainly wasn't in the city anymore. And why was it daytime? Was he knocked out? Or was he transported to the other side of the planet? He knew the government was working on organic transportation, but he had no idea that they had perfected it.
"Jon, time to get up for school!" he heard a woman yell.
He ran to the bedroom door and opened it, but no one was in the hallway. He slowly walked past two other bedrooms (one looking very dark and gothic, and the other looking very bright and colorful), and then made his way downstairs.
"Oh, you're already up," the woman in the kitchen said.
There was something familiar about her, but Jon couldn't quite put his finger on it. He turned and looked around the house, and that was when he saw his reflection in a mirror. Somehow he had lost ten years of his life. He was a teenager again!
What was happening?
A doorbell sounded and the woman said "Oh, that must be Karyn."
"Karyn?"
