In very little time Karyn and Jennifer arrived at the largest hotel in town. The marquee facing the street announced, "Casting Call Today: The Dolls of Daring Do!"
Once inside, the two girls discovered that the movie company had rented the hotel's largest ballroom for the auditions. On one side of the stage they'd set up lights, microphones, cameras, and a backdrop. On the other they'd placed couches and tables for the director, the producers, the casting director and all their assistants. Technicians, publicity people, accountants, and waiters were scurrying everywhere.
Karyn led Jennifer to the sign-in table where they received a synopsis of the film and a script of the scene Jennifer would have to present.
"This doesn't look too bad," Karyn told Jennifer. "It's about two sisters named Juicy and Lucy Deucy who live on a farm in Daring county with their grandmother, Chanteusie. They're good girls, never meaning any harm, but somehow they keep getting into trouble with the law. The crooked sheriff and his squad of hot blonde female deputies never catch them, though, because Juicy and Lucy have a bright orange souped-up convertible that can jump bridges, rivers, other cars, almost anything. Key elements are flirting, foolin' around, and chase scenes."
"Karyn, I'm just not sure about this, " Jessica confided. "Are there any nude scenes, or any out-and-out sex scenes?"
"They don't mention any, but it says here they're shooting for a PG-13 rating. For most of the film, your costume would be short shorts, cowboy boots, and a tie-top. Occasionally, though, you'd be acting in a bikini or some undies. The two girls have a cousin named Davey who waits tables in a Chippendale outfit. The rest of the time he wears Speedos. The deputies wear thin fitted tops, jack boots, and either hot pants or miniskirts," Karyn explained after rescanning the synopsis. "I'm sure it's all very tasteful and important to the film."
"But this hotel is packed with fabulous-looking girls," Jennifer protested. "I bet a lot of them already have experience acting or modeling. What makes you think I can get the part rather than them?"
