Lacy stands up from her seat at the fire and approaches the ATV's. "Can I help you boys?"
"We are so sorry to bother you at this hour," the driver replies, "we are looking for a young girl who is lost out here. She and her prom date were at make out ridge and he got a little frisky. She bolted and we have been looking for her ever since."
"That is unfortunate ,"Lacy says, "but, I have not seen anyone here, nor at the creek bank when I was fishing earlier."
In the camper, Christina had woken upon hearing the ATV's. But, she stayed still while listening to the conversation outside. While moving closer to the wall to hear better, she grazed the window curtain, causing it to move little. The driver sees this and says, "Who is in the RV? I just saw a curtain move."
"That is my dog, I keep him in there at night."
"I don't think it is a dog," the driver replies, "I think you have the girl." he and the other begin to advance on Lacy but are halted when she pulls out Bessie.
The fiery red head cocks the weapon and yells, "back off or I'll put a hole in all of you!"
Unarmed, the driver and others back down and remount their ATV's. "This is your last chance, give up the girl, this will not go well for you when we come back with greater numbers and weapons of our own."
"I will not let you turn that girl into a nylon slave! Not get moving or there won't be a later for you!" Lacy fires the gun into the air, promoting the men to quickly flee.
Once they are gone, Lacy enters the RV. "We have to go now!" She and Christina get into her truck and speed across a very rough back road. "Sorry for the bumps darling," Lacy says, "but, I don't want to take any main roads with those men looking for you."
Christina nods and endures the rough ride. After what seems like forever, them emerge on the edge of town. "What is your address dear, I'll take you home and we can call the police from there.
"1401 Brick Lane Drive."
Lacy nods and maneuvers the truck through town to Christina's home. Christina breathes a sigh of relief as the truck stops in front of her house. "Thank you so much."
"You're very welcome," the red head replies, "I'll park this in back in case those men come here looking for you. I will come in side after and we can call the cops." Christina nods and exits the truck. Tired and sore, she retrieves the spare key from beneath a potted plant on the porch and enters her home. The house is dark, save for the kitchen. This does not strike Christina as odd, because, her mom had agreed to leave that light on for her return from prom.
Christina enters the lit kitchen and is shocked to see her mom sitting at the table. She has a cup of coffee in front of her, but is not drinking it, instead, she is staring off towards the window. "Mom," are you alright, it's me Christina, I have had a very scary night. Mom?
Wendy Blake slowly turns to face her daughter, Her face sends Christina into a panic. It has the same blank look that Sam and her other friends had in the limo. "Hello dear, we have been waiting for you?" It is at this moment that Christina notices the suntan nylon stemming from her mother's calf length night gown.
"Mom.... No... H....How?"
"I can shed some light on that,"a male voice says from behind the frightened youth. She turns to see a suited man. "Hello Christina, my name is John, I admire your fortitude, but, it is time to accept your fate. You and your mother will bring a good price as a pair."
John holds up a package or white Berkshire hose, a spare pair Christina had bought with her original hose. Before Christina can run, she is grabbed from behind and taken to the floor by her mother with a take down hold she learned in a self defense class.
Desperate, Christina yells out to her red headed rescuer who should have been inside by now. "Lacy! Help me!"
