Meanwhile, Karyn was having a blast going one on one with a newborn vampire. With Angel's strength and speed, he was easily able to overcome his opponent and rip its head off. As the vamp dust blew away, he realized that he stood beside the grave of Joyce Summers.
He knelt down to examine the tombstone. The fresh smell of a young girl became apparent. Wait a minute... He examined the ground and was certain that some dirt had been taken. It's that episode!
It made sense. Angel here, Buffy old... He had to find Jon as soon as possible, and then they needed to find Dawn and Spike.
In the episode Forever, Dawn, depressed at her mother's sudden death, gets it into her head to try to bring her back to life. Spike finds her and decides to help her out by taking her to a witch doctor for a spell. After collecting the ingredients, Dawn then goes home to preform the spell, but is interrupted by Buffy. Buffy gives her an emotional speech that convinces her to reverse the spell before it's too late.
But if Jon is Buffy... The whole continuity could be thrown out of wack. Karyn hastily tracked down Jon's scent. Oddly, it seemed mixed up in Dawn's trail and... Spike's?
Karyn followed the trail to what he recognized as Spike's crypt. Frowning, he opened the door a crack, peeked through, and was shocked at what he saw: Buffy... no, Jon, on her knees in front of Spike, her lips wrapped around his... Spike glanced directly at Karyn with a smirk that conveyed pure dominance.
Karyn shut the door and tried to forget what he had seen. Wow, seemed the only thing he could think of saying. He'd never thought that Jon was into guys, but there was no mistaking what was going on.
He decided to let them have some time alone while he fixed the Dawn situation. He didn't have to have Buffy help him, he could find Willow and Tara. Maybe just Tara, he thought. After all, she lost her mother too. He hurried off to orient himself, leaving Spike and Jon to their business.
