"Somewhere out there is my real Mom...and I need to find her."
"Well, we have what is to our knowledge a nearly Omnipotent power right here in our hands, why not use that?" Karyn gestured to the stone.
"Didn't I already tell you? I wished for things to go back to normal, to know what was going on, et cetera, and none of it worked."
"Not what I meant, Jon-boy. We can wish for things completely separate to whatever's happened last night that could probably help us out, like, I don't know, an always-up-to-date roster for the school, a book that describes the true history of the past few days to be compared with ones they're changing it to, a ring that makes the wearer invisible, temporary insomnia to get through the next few nights with those vans... anything really. The rock could give a crucial edge if we use it right."
Jon hesitated. "That makes sense, but I dunno... it could get us in a lot of trouble, too, and that we can't unwish things makes me nervous... I mean... how's your chest?"
Karyn gave Jon a dirty look, but didn't berate him. "Heavy, but nothing I can't live with. Apparently I have the wardrobe for them; it's a little weird that mom and everyone thinks they've always been this big, but whatever. We can write in escape clauses, failsafes, clauses that X won't change, and all that so we wish responsibly. Right?"
Jon considered it. Karyn had a point, but still, he found himself nervous, especially with how poorly the last wish went. And what to wish for...?
