Biff crept into the room as though nothing had changed. In a way, nothing had; waking up the Madison family was a risk he took the moment he entered the house, and he could only pray he'd be soft and quiet enough that nobody woke up. He could've kicked himself for having opened the wrong door, but no use lamenting that now.
Biff quietly closed the door and turned on the lights in the room, beginning his search. In no time he was pawing through Jon's clothes... nothing there. He started looking through magazines, collectibles, so on. Under the bed, he found a stack of some Playboy magazines, and a curious box. He picked up the box for a closer look, felt something tumble about inside...
Sarah Madison stirred from where she slept. Some feeling of things being just... off woke her up, and she turned groggily for a look at her clock. 4:02 AM. Too damn early for school, she thought, tossing about in bed for better rest. She was jolted more into wakefulness when she her door open. That was wrong; she always shut it when she went to sleep, didn't she?
She heard an almost inaudible moving from somewhere else in the house, and that did it. Sarah bolted upright, and then got on her feet: someone was in the house. In nothing but her nightie, she snuck out the door and looked around. Light beamed from beneath the door to Jon's room. Was it Jon? What would he be doing up at this hour? Most pertinently, would it be wise just to open the door right now and look inside?
