Oddly enough, Jon's house wasn't locked.
Biff pushed open the door and took a look around. Biff had no memory of ever entering Jon's house before, come to think of it, and as such his investigation soon became more of a look into the life of the Madison family than anything relevant to the van that had just taken his family.
Still, he had to look. He found precisely what Jon had found, at first: No van in the lot and no people scurrying about. None of the Madison family were up yet, either. Perhaps the same sleepiness that had descended on his family descended on them... or maybe not. Biff kept quiet, in any case.
At any rate, with no familiarity of the house, Biff looked around to decide where to look first, or if he had time to bother with this house.
