Jon continued standing, and said "I'd hardly call it a mistake."
"What?!" exclaimed Sarah. "Killing millions of intelligent beings is hardly a mistake?"
"That's right," said Jon. "It's hardly a mistake." He waved his hand, a gesture which Sarah suspected wasn't even necessary. And then he said "They're all alive again. Moose too."
Kevin let out a sigh of relief and said, "I knew that bitch didn't know what she was talking about."
"Now wait a minute!" said Sarah. "Tell me, is it okay to rape or torture someone and then drug them so they forget about it? Even if you can bring people back to life, that's basically what you did to them, just like it's what you're doing to all the poor bimbos who forgot they were ever boys. Hurting people and then thinking it's dandy just because nobody remembers they got hurt. Besides, you're not even keeping track of all of them. Are you really trying to tell me that if Chastity dies in poverty someday, you'll remember to bring her back?"
"I only hurt people who need to be hurt," said Jon, apparently already forgetting about the alien planet. "And speaking of which, I think Kevin was right. You've been trying to pretend you're smart, but you're just a bitch. You know, Kevin always wanted to have a poodle, so we could use a bitch. And I've provided a steady supply of cheerleaders, so I don't think the football team will miss you. Bye, Sarah."
Jon waved his hand in the air, completely unnecessarily, and then in Sarah's place stood a female grey poodle. "Strange, I wanted a white one. Oh well, close enough," he said. The entire room became, not silent, but full of normal-sounding chatter--because Jon had just wiped everyone's memory and made them think Karyn always had a poodle.
"And that's the end of Sarah McMillan, the cheerleader" said Karyn. "I never thought it would happen this way. How do you suppose she found out all those things anyway?"
"It doesn't matter," replied Jon. "What matters is we're out of obstacles. Now, what do you think I should do with my cousin Mike? He liked to pick on me a lot, you know...."
Nicole gaped. She had thought that...
Don't worry, said Sarah's voice in her head. Jon's power didn't affect me. I transformed myself. That's why the color's wrong. I didn't know what color to use.
Oh, I'm glad, thought Nicole.
I'm trying to avoid a fight, said Sarah. Maybe we can talk to Kevin alone.
Or take Jon by surprise. But on the other hand, the longer we play tricks on them, the greater the chance they'll figure it out. What if he realizes you faked this? Or what if he figures out that your powers are as good as his?
Hmm, replied Sarah's voice. I'm not really sure what. I didn't have any big plans if confronting Jon didn't work and Kevin couldn't be convinced. What do you think we should do, Nicole?
