At lunch, Jon got on line to get a plate of food. He wanted the pizza and besides, Carol was at the end of the line and would be right next to him.
He hoped he could bring himself to talk to her, but she spoke first. "So how does it feel?" asked Carol.
"How does what feel?"
"How does being changed into a girl feel?"
"I don't know what you're talking about" said Jon. Did Carol know about the stone, he wondered?
"Come on, Jon. Everyone's heard about it by now. Last week they finally reopened that abandoned subbasement in the school and it turned out there was some kind of magic circle in there. "And," continued Carol, "you were sitting strangely in class again, like you were sitting just after it happened. So what's it like?"
"I... I don't know" said Jon. "I..." He certainly wasn't going to say he was feeling like a horny lesbian just by looking at her. "I mean you're a girl, so you should know, right?"
"But I've always been a girl, I don't know what it feels like to change. Unless the circle changes girls into guys, but I'm not going to sneak down there. Especially since nobody knows how to reverse it. Do you feel embarassed wearing panties? Do you get periods? Do you like guys?"
"I don't wear panties, I haven't had a period, and I don't like guys like that! I like girls..."
"What about girls like me?"
What did Carol mean by that? "I... You're a lot nicer than Sarah and Karyn is more like a sister to me."
"I thought so" said Carol. "I was asking because...."
