Things seemed to shift. Jon looked around, but there were only minor changes, such as him still sitting with Joseph, but no longer on top of him--his position had changed by more than a foot. Which seemed a little suspicious, because if Joseph had just made his parents more tolerant and nothing else, there really shouldn't be any changes at all.
Quickly Jon got up to pick up the stone again and said "Joseph, I have to use the bathroom," then walked towards it. He had to get a moment by himself to figure out what had happened.
On the way to the bathroom he passed a room with an open door--and the inside looked just like his own room--and he noticed a picture on the wall. It was of Joseph's family with Joseph at around the age of 9, but Jon was in the picture too.
There was only one explanation: Joseph's wish that Jon could be here whenever he wanted happened by making Jon into a relative, probably Joseph's brother.
"I wish I knew if my suspicions were true." That only confirmed it. Jon was Joseph's brother now. Or was that a sister? Joseph, having heard his own wish, didn't know that he and Jon were now brothers, and still thought he was dating Jon. Jon also had to worry about a possible pregnancy--maybe it wasn't Jon's fault now, but it still could have happened.
That was far too many wish effects for Jon's comfort. He'd have to get rid of a few of them or at least solve them. It should be easy. He hadn't asked to be related to Joseph, and he certainly hadn't asked to be pregnant. All he had to do was to reinterpret the wishes that produced those results. (He hadn't asked for Joseph as his boyfriend either, but at the moment he didn't care.)
So Jon said, "I wish..."
