"Well," said Jeff, "obviously we weren't close enough for it to work."
Jon took a step closer to Jeff and said "Well, if you want to see if you can force a daydream, try again."
Of course, the gold ring had no powers whatsoever, but Jon was able to use his thoughts on the stone invisibly hung on the amulet on his neck. "Okay, stone," he thought, "here's the next plan. Suddenly, Jeff will have female genitals and Jeff and Joseph will be roommates. This will continue until I want it to end. When it ends things will return to exactly as they are now, except that they and I will remember what happened. I wish I knew if you can do this plan safely, stone."
"No," came the voice in his head.
"Huh? I wish you'd tell me why you could do the island wish, but you couldn't do that."
"If Jeff and Joseph were roommates for a while and time was then reversed, I could only reverse time within the range of the wish. The rest of the world and the sun would be outside the range of the wish, so the time of day would change and the city would seem to have lost many hours. You would not call this result 'safe'."
"If, instead, I transported them back in time to the start of the wish, they could change the past and cause a time paradox. I could transport them back in time from the island because the island is too far away for them to go there and change the past."
"Okay," thought Jon. "Here's another plan. Jeff is female between the legs. Jeff and Joseph are roommates and everyone except them, Adam, and myself thinks it's normal. However, I can use further wishes to change this in any way I want. Also, my ring will vanish in a puff of smoke and they will believe that the ring malfunctioned, granted a wish, and disappeared. I wish you'd carry out this plan."
There was a popping sound and Jon felt something on his hand. "Ow!" he said, raising his right hand. On it, his gold ring began to glow red, then vanished in a puff of smoke.
"It worked!" said Jeff. "I can feel it... I don't have a dick any more. But your ring..."
"It must have granted one big desire and burned out," said Joseph.
"Yeah, that does make sense," said Jeff. "Does this mean we're roommates now? Wait a minute... I think I know where Joseph and I live. It's as if I always knew."
"I know it too!" said Joseph.
Adam yelled at a passing boy to come over. When the boy arrived behind the bleachers, he asked him, "Excuse me, is there anything strange about Jeff?"
"You mean his pussy? He showed it to us the other day. Everyone knows about it already. Nothing else as far as I know."
"What about his roommate? Tell me how they moved in."
The boy looked at Joseph and said, "Er--we all know that Jeff and Joseph started living together immediately after Jeff came to town last week."
"I guess we really are roommates now!" said Jeff.
"Right you are," said Joseph. "Let's see how things go from here."
