"Maybe I can ask that guy in the blue dress shirt and tan slacks," thought Jeff. Then, to his surprise, he caught the same guy staring at him. Jeff glanced back at the guy, then met his gaze directly, then walked over to where he was standing.
"Hi, my name's Jeff," he introduced himself.
"Yeah, I know. That's what I heard. My name's Keith. I guess this was a big day for you, huh?"
"You mean with the, ah, ..."
"With the magic shower," Keith interrupted. "They say it changed your guy parts to, uh, female stuff. Is that right? It doesn't seem possible. I hope I'm not being too blunt."
"No, that's OK. As to the magic shower stuff, it may not seem possible but it happened anyway," Jeff admitted.
"So what's it like? Do you feel like a girl now? Do you think like a girl?" Keith wondered.
"It's just strange and confusing. And of course, I have this, uh, empty feeling," Jeff explained. "As to thinking, I never could figure out how girls think, and I still can't, so I guess that hasn't changed."
"I could never figure out how girls think either," Keith confided. "That's why I've never been on a date. I can't figure out how to talk with a girl, let alone ask one out. And if someone accepted, I sure wouldn't know what to do. It's much easier to get along with guys. I'm not gay, though. When I think about sex, it's always with girls: girls who think like guys. Gosh, I'm sorry; I don't know why I'm babbling like this."
"Would you consider dating me?" Jeff wondered aloud.
"Actually, I've been thinking about that all day. Well, since I heard about... you know. Why do you ask? Because, like I said, I'm not gay or anything..."
"So let's go out," Jeff proposed.
"Yeah, I wish we could figure out some way... 'cause see, I don't want anyone to see me dating someone who looks like a guy."
"We'd just look like two guys hanging out. People see you hanging out with your guy friends all the time, right?" Jeff encouraged.
"I'm hoping this date will be more than that," Keith stated plainly. "Hey, wait! Maybe we can double-date with someone else. You know, so we have two people who look like guys, and two who look like girls."
"Actually, my new friend Jon who's, uh, ..." Jeff stalled.
"Yes, I've heard. He's like you. Please go on," Keith encouraged.
"Well, he's looking for a date too. Maybe, depending on who he finds, ..."
"That's him, isn't it?" Keith asked as he looked down the hall. And when Jeff looked the same direction, sure enough, there was Jon approaching hand-in-hand with the most gorgeous oriental girl Jeff had ever seen. She was tall without being bulky. She was thin and delicate without being straight and bony. Her hips, breasts, and butt were fuller and rounder than most girls' her type. A dozen emotions flashed across her large eyes in a single moment. Her long silky hair hung well past her shoulders and fell in threads across her face. She was shy yet alert, quiet but attentive. Her softly-accented voice electrified the air like a wind chime.
"Something here doesn't add up," Keith told Jeff. "I know who that is. Her name is Yolanda Yoshida and she never dates anyone. Never. She never even talks to boys, but she's not a lesbian, either. At least, you never see her with the other lezzies."
"Hi, Jeff. Is this your date?" Jon asked once the four were together.
"Well, we were talking about that, yes. The thing is, Keith would like two of us to look like girls, and two of us like guys, even if we're actually not. That's so anyone who sees us will think we're two straight couples, double-dating."
"I will gladly dress like girl," Yolanda assured the three boys, granting each of them new reason to live.
"Don't look at me. I'm the only one left who has guy parts," Keith stated nervously.
