"Let go back over to James's appartment and check around in there" Said Linda
OK, you go ahead" replyed Jill "Here you'd better take these." She fetched the pile of James clothing and gave them to Linda "i'll meet you over there in a moment, I'll check with some of the other neighbours"
With that Linda departed.
Linda cautiously openned the door to her brother's appartment wondering what she may find there. She droped the clothes onto his bed and began to look round. Nothing seemed to be out of the ordinary.
Just then Jill knocked on the open door frame and entered. "I've asked down the hall nobody else seems to know anything, I think he had a girl friend, I vaguely remember him mentioning one....... Karen????"
"Oh yes I remember him telling me about her" replyed Linda "Prehaps I should pay her a visit, there must be a number for her here somewhere"
"26 Oak tree way" interjected Jill
Linda looked at her questioningly.
"He must have told me at some time" Jill responded.
"I'll lock up then we'll pay her a visit, It's a saturday so I'm guessing she should be home, meet me down stairs Jill, I'm parked on the lot opposite"
"Sure thing I'll get my coat" replyed Jill as she departed.
Linda took at last look round then, grabbing her purse and keys, and locking the door behind her, when down stairs to the parking lot to find Jill.
As she reached the parking lot a group of rough looking youths stood at the corner, she started to walk quickly towards the car, as one broke away from the group, running towards her he grabed her purse and continued running. Before she even had a chance to scream he had gone. She looked round the other youths had also gone. All she had left were her keys which she was holding tightly.
Jill had just exited the appartment building in time to see the youths running off, but not in time to do anything else. She ran over to a shocked Linda.
"They've taken everything" wailled Linda.
"Come on" said Jill "we should report this, where's your car I'll drive"
"Over there" responded Linda "pointing at an old Lincoln on the lot.
They slowly drove to police station. By the time all the statements etc, had been taken it was too late to pay Karen a visit. So Linda dropped Jill back to her appartment before heading home. She would visit Karen alone the next day.
When Jill arrived home she found a girl around her age waiting for her. "Hey Jill where have you been, have you forgotten we were ment to meet the boys tonight."
"I don't really feel up to it" bluffed Jill vaguely feeling she should probably know her.
The other girl looked at her, noticing the just visible bruse on Jill's forehead. "What happenned are you OK?" she questioned."Come on you can tell me"
So Jill began to recount all that she could remember of the strange events that had taken place in the last 24 hours.
Once she had finished, the young woman, who it turned out was Sadie. (Jill's oldest friend, James had met her at a party the previous month)said "Well that settles it your coming home with me for a few days", and with that, a protesting Jill was hustled back to Sadie's appartment the other side of town.
Over the next few days Jill learn all about her life from Sadie, from falling out of a tree at when she was 3, up to the pair of them studying media at University. She now knew so much about the real Jill she truely believed she was Jill.
By the Thursday Jill felt she had out stayed her welcome at sadie's and decided she should return home. Sadie agreed to drive her back to her empty appartment.
On saying there goodnight, Sadie said she would call back the next afternoon to pick her up for classes.
That night jill went to bed much happier and relaxed, she now knew or believed she knew who she was.
All of this was to shatter the next morning when she woke up.
The day started normally, she woke at 8, showered then dressed, in a cute summerdress, that she found in her wardrobe. Had a small bowl of musely, for breakfast, and she was just settling down on the couch to study up on that afternoons lesson when she heard the front door begin to open.
She jumped up, startled. "nobody else should have a key for here" she thought, as she turned to look ..........
