"Jon, you idiot!" said Karyn.
Jon noticed that her face seemed a little higher--she must have gotten taller. He looked down to see her lower half in jeans, but as far as he could tell without peeking at anything, male-shaped. The wish had worked fine, and he didn't understand why Karyn was yelling. "What? Have you been watching a lot of anime? They say that in there all the time."
"No, Jon, I'm saying it because it fit what you just did. First of all, I don't want to be half of each sex. You could have just wished I stayed a girl and split into two girls! Second, I just told you I wanted to go to the washroom and see my teacher, without missing the bus.
"So?" said Jon.
"So? Your splitting has a limited distance. Like two or three miles. And I have the same limit as you. Do you know how far away the bus takes me?"

"You don't have to guess, Jon. I live, oh, two or three miles away, so this splitting is perfectly useless for what I got it for. So I'm half guy for no reason! You didn't even put a time limit on it!"
