"Uh, yeah, we did, sort of, after you and Alan left. We went and parked by the canyon. It wasn't all the way, though. What about you and Alan?"
"I'm not telling. You'll have to ask Alan," Karyn deferred.
"OK, I will," Joseph decided. "Oh gosh, I'm going to be late for class. Let's meet after school, OK?"
"OK," Karyn and Jon replied together. This drew a strange look from Joseph but then he was gone.
"It seems Joseph has a crush on the new you," Karyn teased.
"Apparently, the whole school believes I date both sexes," Jon explained, "just as they believe I've always been this way. Joseph thinks he's been dating me."
"So it would seem. I suppose then you should date both sexes. Unless, of course, you want to set off everyone's fire alarm."
"Why would they even notice?" Jon asked.
"It seems you're a bit of a celebrity around here. People watch you and talk about it, you know. It's the price of having, ahem, unique qualities."
"Even though I'm half girl -- the bottom half -- I couldn't stand to date a guy," Jon objected. "My top half just couldn't take it. That kiss of Joseph's just now was bad enough."
"No, you have to play the role," Karyn insisted. "And you can't be physically half-female and mentally all-male. You'll go nuts or something. Maybe you should change your outlook."
"How... You mean with the stone?" Jon asked. "Like, make myself gay?"
"No, bisexual," stated Karyn frankly.
"People don't just decide whether to be straight, gay, bisexual, or whatever," Jon objected.
"They might if they had the stone," Karyn pointed out.
"Would you change yourself that way?" Jon pressed.
"I dunno but I'm beginning to think I'm turning bi anyway. In first period I thought about eating you and the thought repulsed me. But the more I thought about it, the more intrigued I became. Now I'm beginning to wonder what eating another girl might be like. I think you're changing too. You could have pushed Joseph away, you know. You could have cited the rule the prohibits public displays of affection in school. But you didn't. Shouldn't the bell have rung by now?"
"No, I keep wishing for more time between periods. All right, let's try it for a week and see what happens. Is that OK?"

"Very well," said Jon. "First, I wish that effective immediately, Karyn and I would each become permanently immune to all diseases, including sexually transmitted diseases. Second, I wish that effective immediately, neither Karyn nor I will become pregnant until I make a countermanding wish. Third, I wish that for the next week Karyn and I would each become bisexual, meaning equally open to sex with any physical or mental gender or mix thereof, after which I will revert to my current sexual orientation and Karyn to hers."
