"We can't use pictures to fix everything," said Karyn. "But we can still use the stone."
"Combine us into one person?" said one of the female Jons.
"Maybe," said Karyn.
"Karyn," said a second girl Jon. "You and Emily have been messing with me all night. So I know that look on your face. You are going to change us back, right?"
"I promise there'll be one Jon when I'm done with you."
All three Jon's caught a suspicious look on Karyn's face, but when Karyn went up to Jon's room and returned with the rock, they didn't say anything.
"I wish," said Karyn, "that until I wish it back--but for at least a week--you three are brothers and sisters. I wish that during that wish your names will be Jon..." She picked some names at random. "Zoe, and Mikey, and you will be ages 17, 15, and 10, and it'll be natural for you to act according to the new reality."
She tossed the rock to Jon. "Here, catch."
"What kind of a wish is that?" said Jon. "Change me and my brother and sister back! Your wish won't let me do it."
"I can't," said Karyn. "Not for a week. And notice how you said 'my brother and sister'."
"You didn't even let me have the rock!" yelled Mikey. "Jon has it for the whole week, and I'm stuck as a kid. Change me back, you meanie."
"I'm not hurting you," said Karyn. "And you make a good kid brother, Mikey. You sound just like one."
"Yes, you are," said Zoe, the one dressed in black.
"What do you think of the way you're dressed, Zoe?" asked Karyn.
"Huh? I always wear lots of black. There's nothing wr-- wait a minute."
Emily and Karyn giggled. The next week was going to be fun.
