I held the stone up to Emily, and told her all about it. About how my grandfather passed and about how the stone was passed on to me in secret. I explained the mess up we did with Karyn and how you couldn't outright reverse wishes. After seeing what just happened, Emily believed every word.
"So...how can we get you back to normal?" She asked.
I looked down at the dress I had on, and at my little five year old hands.
"We need to..." I paused, still unsure about my little voice, "..we need to figure that out. We should try to find Karyn, she could try to help, too."
"Alright," Emily said, "I'll try her house again. Can I just use redial?" She asked. I nodded yes. Emily walked over to the phone and hit the button, then sat. After about 20 seconds she hung up.
"Still no answer, we'll have to go find her ourselves." She said. "Do you have any idea where she might be hanging out?" I thought for a second, then realized that Karyn might be studying at the library for her big biology midterm.
"We should try the library, she could be studying." I squeeked. Emily smirked.
"Yea, same old Karyn. At the library. Lets go!" Emily said, smiling. I nodded, and then tried to put the rock in my pocket, but I didn't have one. I didn't want to just carry it around, I might say the wrong thing and mess things up even more.
"Emily!" I yelled, as she was heading for the door. She turned around. "Could you carry the stone in one of your pockets? I don't have any."
"Yea..." She said with extreme hesitation. She walked over and took the rock from me. As she was walking away, she quickly turned around. "Actually, I don't feel comfortable carrying this thing...you know, after what it did to you. I just know I'm gonna mess everything up with this kind of responsability"
"Okay, well give me better clothes with pockets. It would probably look less strange to other people, now that I think about it." We both smiled at eachother.
"Okay, here we go." Emily held up the stone. "I wish was wearing the right clothes and they had pockets." The stone flashed brightly, causing a quick moment of blindness. Before I had even really come to, I heard Emily.
"Oh, shit! Oh, no, Jon!" She said, causing my stomach to drop. I opened my eyes and saw strands of dark hair running down my face. I quickly pushed them behind my ears, and caught sight of my slim hands in the process. I looked down and saw the same dress, but it fit right. I noticed suddenly that the panties fit snug, too.
"No..." I said in a young girls voice. My eyes quickly widened to Emily, who's hand was still held to her mouth in shock.
"Those dress up clothes..." Emily started, "...were my older cousin's dresses. If we were five..." She looked up, thinking, "Then you are my cousin, at age eleven. I'm so sorry!" She ran over and hugged me. I was still too shocked to take everything in. How were we going to fix this, I kept thinking to myself. As Emily embraced me, she broke out into a tearful chuckle. She pulled herself away.
"Look." She said, pointing at my dress. I looked down and saw an out of place pocket right on the side. She took the stone and slipped it in right away. Then looked back at me.
"Okay," I started, adjusting to the second new voice in a half hour, "I realize now that nothing is impossible with this stone. We can definatly find a way to get me back to normal. Now let's get to your car and find Karyn." Emily smiled at me and nodded. And with that we went out the front door and to Emily's car. Not to mention I tripped twice adjusting to my new body...
