"What are you saying?" I asked.
"You said 'I wish things were differant' like the unresponsible person you are and all this happened! Thank god I wished that we'd never lose track of eachother! But now we're in a completely fake, completely made up world, thanks to you! And look at you, you're a boy! Give me the rock back and I can fix this."
It took me a second to register what was going on. Completely made-up, completely fake world? Something strange was going on here, but I couldn't figure it out.
"Okay, all this isn't 'completely fake' okay? This is my house, my city, and my life. Ever since I can remember, this has been it. I don't know who told you about the rock, or even where the hell you come from, but you better leave right now. Do you know Karyn, did she tell you?!" I asked, as the thought came in mind. Liz rolled her eyes in frustration.
"There is no Karyn! Karyn is fake! This house, your parents, your memories, all created by this stone! Come on, give it to me! Once things are back to normal, you'll thank me!"
I started to grasp the box even tighter. This girl had to have been lying, the stone can't be powerful enough to create an entire existance. I really needed to talk to Karyn and it couldn't wait. She needed to be here now. She might be pissed at first, but she would realize the urgency soon enough. I unlatched the box and pulled the stone out.
"Don't!" Liz shouted. "Don't screw things up more!" She seemed alarmed once again. I held the stone in my hand.
"I wish Karyn was here." I said. The rock strobed a blinding blue light for a moment. When my eyes adjusted, Karyn was laying on the floor sleeping, wearing pajama pants an a pink bra. I forgot about her new hair and chest, so I didn't recognize her at first. She started to stir.
"Wha..." Karyn said as she lifted herself from the ground.
"Karyn, I'll explain." I said.
"Jon? What the fuck, man..." Karyn protested, wiping her sleepy eyes. She looked up and saw me and Liz facing off to eachother.
"Who's that? Whats going on? Did you wish me here?" She said, yawning. She slowly picked herself off the floor, sleepily adjusting her smaller bra to fit her new dimensions more comfortably. I wasn't used to seeing Karyn in just her bra and I had to make an effort not to stair at her attractive upper torso.
"Yea, I wished you here, its kind of urgent." I said. "This is Liz, she says she knows me as 'Jennifer'. I supposedly made a wish as this 'Jennifer' and created this whole existance. Now she wants to change me back. Here." I handed her the picture of the girl.
"Who's this? One of Sarah's cheerleader groupies? Jon, have you been screwing around with that rock without me?" Karyn said through half squinting eyes.
"I haven't done shit, believe me. I woke up to this girl stealing the stone from my dresser." I said, motioning to Liz.
"Oh, god." Liz said, starting to look overwhelmed.
"Well, she's lying, wish her away and lets go back to bed." Karyn said, her main goal obviously clear. Just then, I heard footsteps above me, coming from my parents room. I glanced up towards the ceiling to reaffirm what I heard. The rock was stolen right out of my hand. I glanced back and saw Liz holding it. Before I could think, I lashed out and tried to grab the rock from her grasp, but to no avail. Liz's eyes lit right up as an almost sinister smile crept across her face. She held the rock out in front of her, and before I could do anything, she spoke:
"I wish Jennifer was back to normal!" She declared. Nothing happened. Liz's face quickly went sour as she looked at the stone.
"I never was Jennifer so I can't turn back to normal!" I shouted at this lunatic.
"Or you just can't reverse wishes." Karyn smirked, recieving a deathly glance from me. Liz backed away from us, still confused on what to do.
"I'll figure this out! I'll get this back to normal!" She said, her voice quivering. Then it was as if a lightbulb went off in her head. "I know!" She held the rock triumphantly again, causing my stomach to sink rapidly. "I wish that everyone else wanted Jon to be Jennifer, too!"
Karyn shot me a panicked glance as the rock flashed brightly...
