Once again, Jon opened his mouth to say something when the door opened and Sarah walked in. She took one look at Karyn and Jon and said, "Forget it girls. There is only so much that make-up can overcome."
With that insult given, Sarah went into one of the stalls to do her business.
Jon's mind had frozen when Sarah had entered the girl's bathroom. He was sure that she would be upset about a boy being in the girl's bathroom. Sarah was the leader of the clique of girls that felt they were better than all other girls, and told the other girls that fact.
Karyn had been nearly as surprised by Sarah's comments, but she recovered much quicker than did Jon.
"Come on J. We don't want to be late for class." She said, pulling the still confused Jon out of the girl's bathroom.
Once outside the room, Karyn whispered to Jon. "See J. I don't you that no one would think it odd about you having girl's gym. Karyn and Jon turned around and saw two of the bigger senior boys walking toward them. One was Fred Franklin, a boy who Karyn had had a crush upon since fifth grade. The other was Kevin Klarkson, his best friend.
Fred stood next to Karyn and asked, "Karyn, I was wondering if you and J wanted to double date with Kevin and me tomorrow night. We thought we would go to the opening of the new movie."
Jon, panicking once again was too scared to move or say anything.
Karyn looked up at Fred and said, "
