Shane wanted to see how far Jon would go as Jennifer. She had trouble thinking of the teenager with her as anything other than a girl.
"Where would you like to eat, Jennifer?" Shane asked the faux girl with her.
"Somewhere that serves a lite meal." Jon said in his Jennifer voice. "A girl's got to watch her weight." He added with a feminine giggle.
Shane shook her head and gave up thinking of the teenager as a boy, 'She is too much like the other teenage girls I see.' Shane concluded to herself.
"Jennifer, there is a restaurant just around the corner that has good lite meals, how does that sound?"
"Sounds nice." Jennifer said.
During dinner Shane was surprised several times as Jennifer exceeded her expectations of how a teenage girl should act. The two of them talked about a wide variety of things.
"My gosh, look at the time." Shane said as she noticed it was well passed ten o'clock. "I have got to get you home. I'll explain to your mother why you are so late." Shane promised Jennifer.
Before paying the bill both Shane and Jennifer made a quick stop to powder their noses.
Jennifer was doing such a good job of being a convincing girl that Shane had actually forgotten that she was really a boy named Jon until she pulled up in front of his house.
'What am I going to do about this?' Shane wondered to herself. 'If I were Jon's mother and someone brought home my son looking more like a girl, then I'd freak out over it.' Shane then decided what she had to do.
"Jon," she said to the feminized boy, "I want you to let your mother know I want to talk to her and then you should go straight to bed, it is late. Don't worry I'll take care of your mother."
"Okay Miss Shane." Jennifer/Jon said as she/he let both of them into the house.
"Mom, I'm home." Jon/Jennifer shouted once both were inside. "Miss Shane wants to talk to you. And I'm going to bed, it is late."
Jon's mother shouted from the laundry room, "Fine, Jon. Have Shane sit in the kitchen, tell her I'll be up in a bit."
As Jon headed into this bedroom, Shane said at the kitchen table. As she nervously tried to figure out what she was going to tell Janet, she absentmindedly played with a rock on the table, not noticing that it was the same rock Janet had had in the beauty shop earlier in the day.
"I wish " She began.
