"Yes, Maam," said John, clearly disappointed with the restrictions being placed on him but also understanding why his mom was strict about it.
"Good. For right now I will keep it in my jewelry box for safe keeping. If you have a wish you want to make, and it better be for something worthwhile, just come and get me," said John's mom as she put the stone next to a pair of her earrings and closed the lid to the jewelry box. She took a small key and locked it.
"I mean it John! If you touch this stone without my permission their will be hell to pay."
