The stone warmed in John's hand as his surroundings blurred like a camera going out of focus. The sounds of frying eggs, conversation between patrons, and the clanking of dirty dishes being washed faded away.
When the world around came back into focus John instantly realized that his house was not back to the way that he wanted it. Instead of rows of tables and chairs that made up the restaurant there were rows of treadmills, weight benches, and stairmasters. John looked behind him to see that the kitchen area was now a sauna and rest area complete with Powerade vending machines.
"Holy shit," thought John, "My house is a public gym."
