Karyn sat in Jon’s English writing class more staring out the window than paying attention to the teacher. She had really wanted to go to her cousin’s wedding but the stupid wish she had made a few days ago had stopped that from happening.

The last two and a half a days had a number of highlights like seeing Jon fend off 'Moose's advances the other day being one off them. She was missing her old life. Growing up having just a little sister she thought she would be ready to deal with Mikey and Zoe. Boy was she ever wrong.

True she had known Zoe almost as long as she had known Jon and she had just seemed a little darker than Jon was and was not only in what she wore but her general outlook on life. But having lived as her “Brother” for the last few days. She had found her to be angry at everything and anything. Karyn knew that she herself had a bit of a temper and was prone to fly off the handle sometimes.

If wanted a example of that she need look no further that the situation she found herself at the moment but Zoë’s’ temper was on another level.

Mikey however was totally different from his big sister Zoe. All he seemed to want to do was to impress Jon. Karyn had never noticed it before but Mikey really looked up to Jon. All his attempts to get Jon to join in with what he was doing was just so he could spend time with his big brother. Karyn mused that it took someone who hadn’t grown up with him to notice this.

“Mr Madison” the teacher said for the second time all be it a little louder this time. “What are your thoughts on the novel we have been discussing this afternoon?” Karyn turned to the teacher and started to answer him. She hadn’t heard his question the first time round as she was so caught up in her on thoughts.

However she was in luck her class had finished reading this book before the break and she had really enjoyed it so was able to answer him without making herself or Jon look too bad.
