As soon as the light cleared, Jon darted a glance toward Julie. She was just the same as she was before, but the look of shock on her face told him that something wasn't right. He turned his head and looked at what she was looking at. It was Chad. What Jon saw both shocked and confused him. It was Chad alright, but with some major changes. His eyes were completely white and his hair seemed to dance about as if being blown from behind. He was in a middle ages-type chain-mail suit-of-armor. The stone appeared to be embedded halfway into the chest of his shirt. He slowly arose from his kneeling position.
"Chad, are you all right?" Jon asked, hoping for the best and still unsure of exactly what was going on. Chad began to speak in an eerie, monotone voice:
"Throughout the ages, I have been used out of malice, out of spite, hate, anger and greed. These elements have forged my will, my mind. I am the harbinger of all these qualities of mankind, and I shall bring them back upon you."
"Baby, what are you talking about?" Julie asked, getting up and approaching her boyfriend.
"I am not baby, I am not Chad, I am the stone. Chad's mind will help me learn the best way to punish your evil race." He glanced over in Julie's direction, the stoic expression on his face giving no clues to his intent. He held his hand up and Julie was flown back onto the floor. Apparently, Stone Chad (Jon's split-second nickname for him) didn't even need to make a wish. The power of the stone was at his will. Jon decided not to follow in Julie's footsteps and remained where he was.
"My knowledge of this world is limited to the body I currently inhabit. You two will prove useful in expanding this knowledge," he spoke. "I will go out and discover what I need to know. The rest, you shall inform me of. Until then, you two will not be leaving this room." He flicked his wrist at Julie. At first, nothing seemed to happen, but then ...
